Join us in Portgordon for what promises to be a fantastic day for all the family

There was some disappointment last year when the joint exercise didn't take place due the the Sea King being unavailable due to an emergency, although the crew were kind enough to do a fly-by on the way back to base - The lifeboat came as planned and played it's part in what was described as the best Gala yet - we were helped by having fine weather. Lets hope for more of the same this year

Portgordon Charity Raft Race and Gala Day is organised each year by

Charity Raft Race

Come along and watch the fun unfold as participants try to win the £100 prize for charity

Always a great crowd pleaser - A crew from Buckie Fire Station won last year and as a result the Firefighters Benevolent Fund was richer by £100 - will they be back to defend their title this year - you'll have to wait and see

it's not just about winning though as taking part is a way of having some fun with friends and of course there's the challenge of making a raft - just the thing to be doing on these lighter evenings

The day promises to be full of fun so make sure you bring the family along to the day when we will endeavour to provide something for all

VISITORS to PORTGORDON
The two maps below show the locations of recent visitors to our main website

The aim is to update this on a monthly or quarterly basis

The visitor markers are in roughly the geographic area of origin

In the case of the UK there are so many visitors that it isn't possible to identify every area that visits - it would be fair to say that the UK should be considered a blanket area - about 95% of visits originate in the UK

Sites around the world indicate only the area and not the number of visits from that area - some look once others look many times

This feature may become a fixture on the website it all depends on feedback

Visitor Statistics - October 2010

2027 Visitors During October

Once again visitor numbers are up on the corresponding month last year
(2027 October 2010 - 1444 October 2009)
40% increase on last year

Thank you for visiting us

There has been a suggestion that a world map be added to the website visitor page to give an overview of where in the world our many visitors are located. The feasibility of this will be investigated

It would be true to say the majority of visitors are UK based. However, as we all know, there are people all over the globe with an interest in Portgordon

Fireworks Display

Thanks for coming to the Display

All over for another year. The response from visitors has been tremendous. The weather just about held off and after last years disappointment, when the event had to be cancelled at the eleventh hour, this was a spectacular event.

It brings visitors to Portgordon and the hope is they go away with wonderful memories of this fine village

Please note
Portgordon Community Harbour Group Ltd promoted the display via notices on it's 'Blog', Facebook' and main website - it cannot take any credit for the outstanding success of the event because this was all down to the efforts of The Portgordon Fireworks and their many helpers, supporters and sponsors
